"Don't mistake former President George W. Bush's absence from the national conversation with indifference about what his successor's up to these days.
Friends and political allies say that Bush, to nobody's surprise, has Texas-sized problems with Barack Obama's big-government agenda, especially the health care reform bill.
But 43 will continue his policy of keeping silent about 44.
"He's not pleased with the policies he's watching," said a longtime Bush counselor.
Another 43 insider adds: "He's not happy with the direction of what's happening in Washington, but he's not gonna get worked up about it publicly. He feels like he had his time [in office]."
At some time it will be his duty to speak up. But for now, GWB keeps his silence. It's the right thing to do for the American people. Too bad he never got the same courtesy from his narcissistic predecessor.
